SICK TODAY, from the collection “Songs About Girls, Vol I” by RJT

Jane my heart is sick today. It don’t want to go outside and play. I loved you once, from breakfast to lunch, you whisper “Je connais, je connais.” Jane my eyes are sick today, they get heavy like when children pray, “Amen, Hallelujiah, Love’ll really stick it to ya” These are all just words we say. And Jane I was thinking of you the other day, when my eyes got lost in your hips and their sway, and your dark eyes burning me away. Jane, Jane, Jane, Jane, Jane my heart is sick today. Albert Einstein wore a tie, just like any normal guy, but it really hurts to try and squeeze in his shirt. Won’t fit no matter how hard I try. Jane my tongue is sick again, it’s seen all my lies and where they’ve been. And it’s sick of pain in the tongues of the rain, forking out like a roadmap sin. Jane, my love is just around the bend, untouched by angels and mortal men, let me say it again: Jane Jane Jane Jane Jane my heart is sick today. I sing you this song from far away. Jane my heart is sick today. But still I can’t forget the heat inside our chests. But it’s such a silly song, anyway.
