MAGIC BULLET, from the collection “Songs About Girls, Vol I” by RJT

It’s been such a long time, I’m just a lone gunman, since Kings’ Castleland tore down Paul Bunyon. And in the intervening years, I’ve been plodding towards the future, trying to mend the past, just a karma suture. A puzzle that doesn’t omit all the pieces that fit and I will find you. Target’s in my sights, and my vision’s blurred. This will be the shot ignored around the world. Give me one thousand volts like your love was currency, because I can’t love you alone, I’ll need a conspiracy. I’ll betray the laws of geometry from the book depository and I will find you. And everything’s gone wrong ‘til now. Need to get lost? Let me show you how. I’m a cartographer, I know the way to your door. I will build a booby trap your feet will stick to the floor. Maybe next time I will cave in a little bit firmer. And you won’t have to say a word, you can just hear my heart’s murmur. And you won’t have to render me inert to say that I won’t hurt you. And I will find you because my love is a magic bullet.
