OUBLIETTE from the collection “Ampersand” by RJT
My little oubliette we haven’t even started yet and already you are unable to function without any phantoms to bludgeon? Your hair is as light as the air but your heart is as dark as this dungeon. My little oubliette I noticed that your hair was wet. Were you unable to keep out the rain from the storm gutters in your brain? Would you rather keep yourself locked tight than to mention you feel any pain? And this prison sentence is so extra ordinary you sound like you learned love from a dictionary. My little oubliette I wonder have you lost a bet. Were the odds not in your favor on the short side of this razor? The girl locked inside your walls: did you ever try and save her? My little oubliette what did you need me to forget? Was it a way to count the hours or the scattered petals of your flowers or was it the bullet you have saved for the boy in the heart of this tower?
