SHADE (version 2) from the collection “Ampersand” by RJT
In the hollowed halls of this museum we confess everything we know. With only our secrets to keep us warm, your smile falls like snow. And the cold is such that we see our breath, and our thoughts all spill like wine. This is the winter of our discoteque, we dance your hand in mine. I love that gray fleck in your eyes and that smile when you realize it will always be a perfect day. I love you in your sunshine and your shade. Against the murder mystery background, we’ve been dressing up the plots. And your arms are stretched towards me, last chance for connect the dots. I will shield you from the shining rain, dress you up in my favorite clothes, Playing our hand at the zero point, all our numbers have lost their hold. Under the day the night has left, you dropped a solitary tear. I brought it so, to dampen my chest, it is now all that I hold dear. Looking at the sky with upside down eyes, you’ve blessed your Southern Cross. My faith, as light as a feather, well it stings just like a wasp. I love the raindrops that you dry, and the shadows that your colorize, And all the wind that you pass by, please allow me to summarize
I love you in your sunshine and your shade.
